Clay Monoprints Click on image to start slideshow

The monoprint process starts with a slab of clay.  Colored slips are used to create the design on the clay by painting, stenciling, dripping, scraping, etc.. Once the composition is complete, a piece of fabric is placed over the slab and a roller is used to transfer the composition to the fabric. The work is then dried and framed. I love texture, pattern and color and the monoprints give me a way to express this. My acrylic painting is an outgrowth of this process.
