I have a long history as a ceramic artist.
Sculptural, one-of-a-kind pieces are the centerpiece of my ceramic work. I also specialize in garden art, raku vessels, smoke fired vessels,
porcelain bowls and other stoneware pieces, both functional and
non-functional.
My studio is just outside
Portland OR, with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood. My work is organic,
inspired by nature, usually highly textured, and begs to be touched.
I love to play with clay. It is an amazing
medium. People ask me how do I decide to do a particular form or shape and truthfully, many times the pot makes itself. I seem to just be there.
Same thing with my painting.
More recently, I have had fun working in clay monoprints and acrylics. So amazing to work in color.
